Educators

Alexa Eickschen

Kinni River Farm School is based out of Alexa’s family farm. Alexa has a passion for hospitality and creating spaces that allow people to connect. As a Mom of two Alexa found herself yearning for opportunities that were accessible for her and her children to enjoy the outdoors together! After participating in various Forest and Farm School programs, Alexa knew that the River Falls and surrounding area could benefit from having more outdoor education options.

Maya Shelton

Maya fell in love with the St. Croix River Valley area when she attended UWRF to obtain her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. She moved back to the area with her now husband after completing her Doctorate in Chiropractic at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN. Maya worked for several years as a successful equine chiropractor, but ultimately chose to stay home with her two boys during COVID and the subsequent years. For the last two years she has been working at her boys’ Montessori school as an assistant and Spanish guide in their toddler room. Maya is now looking forward to changing things up again with providing quality outdoor education at the Kinni River Farm School!

Theresa Mischo

Theresa is a mother of three kiddos and lives in Hudson with her husband, chickens and dog. She has an art degree from the University of Northwestern – St. Paul and is excited to be leading the craft portion of the Farm School! Theresa also works part-time in Association Management. She is excited to be a part of the Farm School and build a community with her kids and fellow moms.

Emma Washington

Emma is one of the leaders for our Farm Camp, drop-off program on Thursdays in June, July, and August. She completed her third year as an Agriculture Education Major at UWRF this past Spring and is looking forward to teaching in the classroom during her Senior Year this Fall.

Emma loves the outdoors, fishing, and spending time with her family and Fiancé. She is excited to share her passion for farm life with the camp kids and explore alongside them this Summer.
